DISCUS FISH

The Discus Fish section at Wildwoods houses a vast selection of impressive discus varieties. Most of our fish are imported from top breeders in Thailand and include many popular varieties such as Pigeon Blood, Cobalt, Snakeskin, Marble, Turquoise, Dragon, Marlboro and lots more. We offer young fishes from 6cm upwards as well as larger and sub-adult discus.

Wild Discus fish feature at Wildwoods during the Amazon collecting season which is usually November to May. Our wild caught fish are generally adult discus and are imported by us directly from Brazil. Typical varieties are Green, Brown, Tefe, Heckel and Blue.

 

 

 

All Wildwoods Discus fish are quarantined for at least three weeks before being offered for sale, this ensures healthy stock that is feeding well and should acclimatise easily.

Discus fish at Wildwoods are kept in good sized tanks that have individual filter systems, U.V’s and additional heaters. All our fish are kept in a percentage of R.O. water at a temperature of 28 – 30 degrees C. The pH is normally around 6.8.
