How it works
Ultra violet light kills the algal cells that create the dreaded ‘GREEN WATER’. Pond UV Units are very effective and if you choose the right unit in conjunction with an appropriate filter, they will produce clear water. Blanket weed is not affected by UV but can be controlled by other means.

Installation
The UV should be installed out of the pond in the hose run between the pump and the filter (where used with pump fed systems).

Hozelock / Cyprio Vorton UV

The unique “Vorton” design features a turbulator which spirals the water flow around the UV bulb. The inlet and outlet are mounted on revolving collars which allow you to orientate the hose connections without placing any stress on the casing and to prevent kinking of hoses. Vorton UV’s are for use with Titan pumps or other models with similar low pressure delivery. Replacing bulbs and cleaning of the quartz sleeve involves the removal of only two screws. They are fitted with 5 metres of mains cable.
