| WATERFALLS
One of the first problems you encounter
when setting a pond in the ground
is, what to do with all the soil you
have removed. The obvious answer is
to build a rockery to one side, and
what better place to locate a waterfall.
Watercourse units are ready-made cascades,
streams and header pools that can
be used individually or linked to
form a waterfall system. Sections
can be combined in any desired sequence
although you would normally start
with a larger section or header pool
at the top to provide an upper reservoir
to receive the water from the pump.
We
offer a large variety of shapes in
different materials that vary in weight,
colour and texture.
Installation
The maximum acceptable water flow
down a waterfall is twice the volume
of the pond per hour- waterfalls can
be much smaller than this according
to your preference. If you are using
more than one watercourse always begin
nearest the pond and work uphill from
there. Watercourse units with interlocking
lips are the easiest to install as
there is little chance of water being
lost through splash or run-back. Non
interlocking cascades should be installed
with each section resting directly
onto the one below with a sufficient
overlap to produce a clear fall of
water. Test each section with a hose
to check that it is level and no water
is being lost before fixing permanently
in place. If you cannot be sure that
your watercourse is 100% free from
water loss, you should build the whole
structure on a piece of pond liner
which would drain back into the pond.

of the items listed below are available

SLATE WATER COURSES |

Glass
reinforced concrete waterfalls - virtually
impossible to tell from natural slate.
These units are designed to cope with
a water flow of between 1000 to 3000
gph. The RS23 is not a cascade but
a cover rock that locates on top of
the RS22. Alternatively, you can have
a double cascade using the RS21 to
feed into the RS22.
